We had this happen once when a roommate was going to be gone a month. If they are keeping the house warmer/cooler than normal, pay less than your share.
Cable, meh you aren't using it but it isn't metered either. It's likely that said lease simply says that OP and the other roommates are responsible for their own utilities and probably says absolutely nothing about how those utility costs will be borne by the parties. Now, it sounds like the OP here had an individual lease with the landlord covering just his share of rent. This is the agreement that the OP has to worry about, not the lease. Additionally, you have an agreement, probably oral, among the roommates regarding how the rent will get paid (even split, more depending on room or garage space, etc.) and how the utilities will be split. In most roommate situations, you have a lease that everyone signs that represents the agreement among the roommates and the landlord that the rent will get paid. The landlord doesn't give a fuck who pays the utilities, so long as it's not him.
